Hey, I’m Ashley.
I am a passionate communicator with over five years of experience in the government and political sectors in copywriting, public relations, and media management. I utilize communication principles and strategies to promote and maintain a positive, reputable public image for a person, brand, or company.
Get to Know Me
Hey! My name is Ashley, and here's a little about me. I was born and raised in New York City (Go Yankees!) but moved to Georgia in my teenage years. I am a first-generation Colombian-American. I visit Medellin, my family's hometown, once a year and take great pride in my rich and vibrant culture. A few of my hobbies include cooking and experiencing foreign cuisines—I am a huge foodie! I love fitness and being outdoors. I enjoy combat sports, running with my three dachshunds, and weightlifting.
I stumbled into communications in the most serendipitous way. After beginning my career in law enforcement, I was allowed to represent the department as one of the spokespeople, which quickly forced me to learn the ropes of communications. My department sent me to Miami, Florida, where I trained with some experienced and professional public information officers and reporters from around the country as part of the FBI-LEEDA program. This intensive program paved the way for my continuing education. I enrolled in William Paterson University's Communication Studies program. After three years of service, I decided to pursue a position in the communications field entirely. This led me to become the communication director for a local politician, with whom I helped develop his entire brand and public image. After a long and tedious election season, the campaign concluded. I am focused on my education and will graduate with my Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies this summer (2024). Additionally, I plan on continuing my education and pursuing my Master's degree.
I look forward to connecting with you!
Best,
Ashley Castiblanco
